[When Sir Patrick Stewart was asked to describe Sir Ian McKellen’s early days on the british stage]

Look at that smug face. And he’s doing a little dance!! You can see he’s victory dancing in his head xD [x]

Okay but

really though.

…oh

a guy at school today was wearing this damn fine red nail polish and I heard these two girls whispering angrily and looking in his direction so I listened in expecting them to be weird about it and the first thing I hear is “how the HELL did he get it so good did he get it professionally done or something you need to ask him where he found that colour jesus fucking christ are you KIDDING me”

I think this is a good example of how the world should work.

If men’s kindnesses toward women were really only kindnesses, a man would be pleased if another man or woman offered these kindnesses to him. He would be pleased if another man or woman lit his cigarette or pulled out his chair for him. He would be pleased to derive his income, prestige, power and even his identity from his partner. He would take pride in another man’s or woman’s offer to walk him to his car at night. But in fact, “one of the very nasty things that can happen to a man is his being treated or seen as a woman, or womanlike.

Yeah!  This reality hit me a few months ago when a teenage boy at work said to another teenage boy, “ladies first!” in order to insult him.  Chivalry is not about respect or kindness.

These photos make me cringe.

These photo’s make me upset and angry.

I am filled with such a violent rage. This is why I believe vigilantes need to exist. Because rape culture causes justice to rarely be served.

this is so wrong and makes me so fucking angry UGH

People are perfectly happy to see a woman as sex objects but the actual biology of our bodies is apparently gross and unmentionable!

I’m sorry, but I don’t also want to see a piece of toilet paper hanging out of someone’s bottom. There’s a reason why the body expels certain things. They are not meant to be glorious and beautiful. It’s the same normal disgust we feel at the expulsion of urine and feces. Those things are not playthings meant to be played with. They contain toxins.

it’s a fucking tampon string?? which is fucking obvious actually??

^^ exactly.
there’s a difference between having blood running down your leg (which i wish wasn’t seen as so gross because it happens to the best of us and we literally can’t control it) and there being a tampon string visible in an advert.
the picture itself is clean, tasteful, and completely devoid of blood. in fact, tampons themselves are used as hygiene products - what do you expect us to do, tuck the string in there as well? it’s a fact of life, and it could be argued that it’s a symbol of cleanliness
also, i really don’t see how ‘they contain toxins’ is a valid argument. nor is ‘they are not playthings meant to be played with’, considering the fact that absolutely nobody walks around swinging their tampons by the string offering to make a nice cup of blood tea so please, don’t act as if they do.
the point is, fecal matter and menstrual cycles are two very, very different things. one is solved by toilets which are readily available at everyone’s convenience, the other is solved by putting a tampon in or using pads which both cost quiiiiiite a bit of money so don’t fucking get pissy at us for that ok
