The truth is, if something were to happen and things between them didn’t work out, he’d be hurt for a bit, but he’d get over it. If something were to happen between the two of you, I honestly don’t know if he’d be able to get over everything. Guys don’t like getting hurt anymore than females do. Being with her is safe. Being with you is scary because being with you could mean eventually losing you. Right now, with everything going on your lives, there’s enough scary. Safety is what he needs. You however, is what he wants, and frankly, you both know it, which is scary all in itself, yet it gives you both a sense of security that this will pass, and eventually, the risk of losing you will be a big enough risk to take, considering he won’t be happy without you. Once he realizes that, then I’ll stop referring to him as an asshole, and maybe respect him a little bit, until then, sucks to suck for him.”
